Decisions that sometimes have to be make.

I made a life decision yesterday.
I am getting married.

*just kidding*
I decided to go for what I always always wanted since the age of 12. Guess what is it?
I decided to go for lasik to correct my eye vision. It's my personal choice cos I don't wish to live with spectacles and contacts forever. And I seemed to have a problem with contact lenses in recent years. Like even those made for 1 year ones, I can only wear them for less than a month and my eyes will start hurting like hell at times. :(
I don't really regard lasik as a form of plastic surgery because it doesn't change how you look - you still look the same, just without spects. To me, plastic surgery is putting foreign bodies (plastic duh) into body parts or the alterations of any parts of the body and the end result? You look different.
I took a long time to make this decision and thanks for the support of my friends, boyfriend and family, that I am able to proceed to do this surgery. Wonder how all my courage comes from.
Lol. But first....
I have to part with two things.
1) My spects. Oh begone! :D
2) Cold hard cash. T.T
Had to withdraw the money since I don't own any credit cards and they don't accept nets either. So on that very day, I WAS very rich. Lucky no one attempted to rob me, including my boyf. Hahahaha.
Initially I thought there was nobody who can accompany me on my operation day since it was a Wednesday morning. I know, so sad right! But my sweetest mummy specially took off for me and in the end, dearest Patrik too, insisted that he wanted to go with me instead.
My operation was scheduled at 9am.
- Realised that I needed my mummy to be present to sign the form.
- Clinic decided to make a call to my mummy.
- Patrik signed the form for me since he is over 21 years old.
- Was ushered to another room.
- Got gowned and hair taped down.
- Disinfected my eye area and put numbing drops into both my eyes.
- Doc checked my eyes before proceeding.
- Proceeded to the first room to get my cornea cut.
- Then to the second room to get lasered.
- Resting area and final check by Doc.
The whole process only took less than 30 minutes. Even though it took like less than 30 minutes, I felt that it took forever. I am really very scared although I don't look that scared. After all, it was my first operation. Lol.
But I was already mentally prepared already lor!
I think the scariest part is that you are awake the entire time and you can see what was happening. Including the part where the doc lift up my cornea. My vision just went damn blur. I think more than 1000 degrees! Now I know how people who are damn short sighted felt without their spects. That was the scariest moment I felt. Other than that, I don't feel a thing throughout the operation and the Doc was super assuring throughout the process. Hahahaha.
This is the part where they applied pressure and cut the cornea. I couldn't see at all for this part so it was abit scary. But really don't feel anything one.
The steps of lasik! Found this online. :]
At the last part which was the lasering part, I was required to stare at a red light. For some people, the red light will stay there throughout but for others, the red light will become fireworks at the sides. I was the latter so it was quite hard for me to imagine staring at the red light that I saw in the beginning. And finally, the Doc lifted my cornea back again and the operation was commenced to an end. Hahaha. Like damn long grandmother story. Just wanted to share my experience to those who haven't done the surgery but intending to do or having doubts about doing cos they are afraid.
Don't be. Cos it is really painless! Even the post op also not painful one. I played the com immediately after I got back lor. Lololol.
Thank god it's over and I can see relatively well already! It's like only 12 hours. But I guessed I needa rest somemore for a better result as my vision is still a little hazy now.
Goodbye spects, I will miss you. NOT.
